1. Four Roses Yellow Label
Four Roses “Yellow” Label – now more of a tan color – and small batch or both good options for summer time sips. These pack a great punch for hosting a patio party, grilling out, or just an after-work treat. It’s light, floral, and is a reliable choice for a decent price.
2. Jim Beam White
Jim Beam White is only 80 proof which makes it a great choice for a refreshing drink after a long day of work. This is one of my favorite choices for after doing yard work or mowing the lawn because of the lower proof. Jim Beam White may be basic, but this makes it smooth and valuable addition to a summertime bourbon supply.
3. Woodford Reserve Malt Whiskey
This drink pairs perfectly with hot dogs, smores, and a good ole campfire. While this isn’t technically a bourbon, it makes it onto the list for its sheer uniqueness and appeal to bourbon drinkers.
4. Wilderness Trail
This distillery may not date back to the days of prohibition, but that doesn’t mean it’s not good. This has quickly become one of my favorite distilleries on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour and a great addition to my bourbon collection. This corn-forward bourbon makes for a refreshing flavor perfect for pairing with corn on the cob and a grilled steak.
5. Old Forester 86
This Old Forester standard makes for a light, fresh, reliable bourbon. At 86 proof, I find it perfect on the rocks, neat, or in a cocktail.
Whether it’s on the patio, at a sporting event, or just after a long day’s work, these whiskies make for perfect summer picks for any bourbon lover.
